About

Siyuan Huang, PhD

Licensed psychologist offering virtual therapy across Idaho.

Siyuan Huang, PhD, licensed psychologist in Idaho

I am a Licensed Psychologist working with adults in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Cantonese. My priority is to create a warm, safe space where you feel comfortable being yourself. I want to get to know you as a person, understand what you’re going through, and work collaboratively with you to find practical ways forward. Together, we can deepen your understanding of yourself and your relationships, develop effective ways of coping with everyday stressors, and change patterns that may no longer be serving you.

My approach combines self-compassion with practical change. Together, we’ll work toward more helpful ways of responding to stress and making choices that align with your values, so you can live a more authentic and fulfilling life.

Individual Therapy

Support built around your goals

Depending on your present situation and your reasons for seeking help, there are many benefits to therapy. Therapy can help you better manage your symptoms, outbreaks, and triggers. It can also offer you increased coping skills and open your eyes to new ways of dealing with situations that you may not have been aware of before. Therapy can offer problem-solving skills, provide support, and help you work through life changes, allowing you to see your circumstances as a personal growth opportunity instead of a burden or obstacle.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

I want you to feel fully supported throughout your therapeutic journey. As you invest in the process, it’s important to feel informed and confident about what to expect. Explore the FAQs below to learn more about the intake process, your first session, telehealth, scheduling, and other practical aspects of therapy.

What’s your intake process?

Once we confirm an appointment time, I will email you a link to set up your secure patient portal. Through the portal, you will be able to review and complete the intake paperwork. Please complete all intake forms at least 24 hours before your first appointment so I have time to review them before we meet.

Do you offer virtual therapy throughout Idaho?

Yes. Virtual therapy is offered across Idaho, including Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Twin Falls, Pocatello, and Idaho Falls.

What happens during the first session?

The first session focuses on understanding your current circumstances and concerns, discussing goals, and beginning to determine whether the client-therapist fit and treatment direction are appropriate.

How often will we meet? How long will I be in therapy?

Therapy sessions are usually scheduled weekly or biweekly, allowing us to tailor the frequency to your unique needs. The duration of therapy varies based on the challenges at hand. We will collaboratively determine the next steps and session frequency to best support your journey.

Where are you located?

My practice is currently fully virtual, and all appointments are provided via telehealth. To receive therapy through my Idaho practice, you must be physically located in Idaho at the time of each session.

Telehealth can make therapy more accessible and convenient for busy professionals, parents and caregivers, people with limited mobility, and others who prefer to attend sessions from a private location that works for them. Research suggests that video-based psychotherapy can produce outcomes comparable to in-person therapy for many common mental health concerns.
